Rage
I noticed today that when I listen to music while working, as soon as I hear Rage Against the Machine... any song... that is all I want to hear for the rest of the day. Nothing else kicks enough ass. It just pumps me up. Does anything hit you like that? Current Mood: AWAKECurrent Music: Wake Up |

I love my job
If you don't know already, Keeley has gestational hypertension. This is going to effectively confine her to a bed for the next 5-6 months. Really sucks, so please don't hesitate to call or drop by to visit her. Anything to change up her day I'm sure will be appreciated. I told my boss what was going on yesterday so we could discuss how this would affect me at work. I have a 2 hour commute each way to work in SF. Every other week we have 2 kids to take care of. 8am dropoff at school, 5pm pickup, 2 hour commute + train schedule = ~ 2-3 hour days. And, do to certain ex-husbands moving to Minnesota, from around the end of February to the middle/end of July we're going to have the kids full time. Today my boss pulled me into a room and said, "Hey any time you need to work in Sunnyvale or at home, go for it. I know I can count on you to get things done, I don't need to look over your shoulder. Oh and by the way, I want you to take the lead on our main project." So there ya go. 0 problems at work concerning me not being in the office regularly over the next 6 months. That is a large weight off both our shoulders. Current Mood: grateful |

Go Sharks!
Wow. If you didn't watch the Sharks game last night, you missed out. If you don't watch sports, you should watch that game. Very exciting, all capped with Ryan Clowe tieing the game twice in the third period. Then netting the game winner in the shoot-out. Without a doubt the first star of the game. But of course, no love from the league for the western conference bastards. NHL.com picked the three stars of the night before the Sharks game was even over... little kids there can't possibly stay up past their bed-times to check the stats. And Nabby... helped off the ice after stopping the last Blues shootout attempt. Looks like he twisted something. Hopefully just a light sprain. Lets see if Boucher can extend his shutout madness on Saturday though. 2 shutouts in 2 games played so far this year. Sharks 8-0 at home. 4-2 on the road First place in the League. Playing like they mean it. Very exciting season. wow. Current Mood: excited |

The facts
Something I've not heard mentioned, even in the wildly Pro-Obama region of San Francisco (read, all of it)... Obama is against gay marriage. He believes faith and government cannot be separated on this issue. He believes gays should have full legal benefits through civil unions, but it should not legally be called a marriage. Totally equal rights... but separate rules. I thought separate but equal was covered a while back Mr. Obama. I thought it was covered by a Supreme Court ruling that allowed you to go to any school you wanted. I thought... oh wait, that was for a group you're a member of. But now that the shoe is on somebody else's foot, well, tough luck I guess. But McCain is of the same view, so that means you have to pick between the lesser of two evils. Or give a serious thought to the third party candidates. Maybe read their platforms. |

bailout bill passed
The bailout bill passed, due to legalized bribery. But thankfully it will allow us cheaper wooden arrows for kids, cheaper race tracks, and cheaper rum. Thank you Senators McCain and Obama. You both stated very clearly in your debate that you were against pork-barrel spending and earmarks. I'm glad you pulled through for us by voting... Oh, nevermind, I guess the straight talk express wasn't exactly truthful. And I guess the whole trickle down idea of Bush's, you know, give money to the top to help the people at the bottom, the idea that Obama said multiple times doesn't work, the Bush Doctrine that Obama said we can't afford 4 more years of, actually works. Or else, why would Obama support it? If your senator or congressman voted yes on this, ESPECIALLY if they changed their vote from no to yes after the extra crap was added, please vote them out at the next election. I know this is common practice up there for every bill that goes through there, this is just the last straw for me. Send your representatives a letter telling them exactly why you are voting them out, and do it. Tell them that their 9% approval rating was earned through hard work, and is not acceptable. If you need to know how people voted: SenateI'll get the house link to you later I guess... their website is disgustingly slow atm. yay politics. :( |

Last day of my vacation here in Montana and what do I get to see? Bald Eagle. Never seen a wild one live. But there he is (I'm looking at him right now), about 300 ft away, hanging out on a dead tree. Here is my crappy picture of it. I love nature. Current Mood: enthralled |

google maps pwns again
So apparently back in the day (5 or 6 years ago), before Riverbed moved to its current nifty digs on Fremont Street, the company was a very young startup with typical startup woes. But there was inspiration for the employees. Inspiration that kept people going until the company succeeded. A pigeon. A lowly pigeon inspired the employees to 'hang in there' by doing just that. For several months. Not until the entire overpass was torn down was Pidgey forced to move. Recently our stock price has gone down quite a bit and the Pidgey came up in discussion. The question that inevitably came up was, "Did anybody get a picture?!" The answer is... sort of. The employees didn't. Google did. So remember, when everything seems to be going from bad to worse... Hang in there guys. It'll get better. Or the overpass will be demolished around you. Current Mood: amused |

For those of you that know, I've been dealing with a LOT OF STRESS recently. So here I was, 30 minutes from leaving work and I'm asked to come to a meeting. And the only people sitting there are the other two Bills... my boss and his boss. I'm being let go. I haven't even told Keeley yet. She isn't home and I don't want to tell her on the road. I don't know what to do. Current Mood: lost |
